The Science and Practice of Effective Clinical Suicidology
Friday, September 18, 2026 | 11:00am to 2:15pm CST
The Arkansas Psychological Association is partnering with the National Register of Health Service Psychologists, in collaboration with the Council of Executives of State and Provincial Psychological Associations (CESPPA), to bring you this clinical webinar on suicide risk.
In this three-hour session, Dr. David A. Jobes will highlight key evidence-based approaches to the assessment, management, and treatment of suicidal risk, with close attention to ethical issues and risk management.
The presentation explores the history that shapes contemporary clinical suicidology, along with the models that inform how we understand suicidality today. The core focus will be on clinical approaches to screening and assessment, interventions for acute stabilization, and treatments supported by randomized controlled trials. Dr. Jobes will also address ethical considerations and ways to reduce exposure to malpractice liability.
