Disaster Mental Health
Wednesday, July 15, 2026 | 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM CST
Join us for a peer consultation on disaster mental health, an approach to caring for survivors in the immediate aftermath of a disaster.
When disaster strikes, conversations about recovery often focus on rebuilding communities: homes, roads, and infrastructure. What gets forgotten is the mental health of the people living through it. This session brings that conversation back into focus.
Dr. Laura Rohm, President-Elect of ArPA, will moderate a discussion on effective strategies to help Arkansans in the most critical situations following a disaster.

About the Moderator:
Laura Rohm, PsyD serves as President-Elect of the Arkansas Psychological Association. Her leadership reflects ArPA’s ongoing commitment to ensuring psychology professionals are equipped to support Arkansans, including during disaster recovery when mental health needs are too often overlooked.
Session Focus:
This peer consultation offers space to discuss what disaster mental health support actually involves, share strategies for the most critical situations, and consider how psychology professionals can help ensure mental health stays part of the conversation during community rebuilding efforts.
Presenters:
